Sambar Vadai

Sambar vadai is a famous dish in Tamil Nadu. You can get it in every hotel and small cafes. Usually in hotels, the vadas prepared in the morning goes into reheated sambar which is also prepared in morning, and makes thier place to the diner's table in the evening. So I usually prefer sambar vadas prepared at home. They are fresh and healthy. When ever my mom prepares ven pongal, sambar and chutney, she will surely prepare ulunda vadai also. During breakfast, she will drop the some vadas into sambar, and serve sambar vadas. I don't remember her sprinkling onions or coriander leaves. But it tasted divine and we used to fight for the last vada. Remembering that I also prepared these vadas while preparing a typical south Indian breakfast. It was so nice. The onions on top gave a nice crunch to the soft sambar soaked vadas and the coriander added freshness. K liked it very much, but sruti didn't touch it. Though vada and sambar are her favourite, she is not into eating sambar soaked vada. It can wait until she grows up. The preparation is quite easy once you have vadas and sambar at hand. You can use any sambar without the vegetables. Even if the sambar you have has vegetables, just remove it out. It may take the taste away from the vada.
