Tosha

This is a Sindhi sweet and I prepared it for the fifth day of Blogging Marathon. It is absolutely delicious and the taste resembles the south Indian Badushah. But it doesn't look like it. I have seen many bloggers posting tosha. BM has given me an oppurtunity to try it out.  It is very easy to prepare. I enjoyed preparing toshas.

Ingredients:
For The Toshas:
Flour-250gm
Oil-1/2cup
Curd-1/2cup
Baking Soda-1/2tsp
Oil-for deep frying
For The Syrup:
Sugar-2 1/2 cups
Water-3cups

Procedure:
1. Mix flour and baking soda. Add curd and oil and prepare a soft dough. Knead it till smooth.
2. Divide it into 25 equal portions.
3. Roll each portion into an oblong roll.
4. Heat oil and fry the toshas on medium flame till golden brown.
5. Add water and sugar and bring it to boil in a pan.
6. When the syrup becomes sticky, add the fried toshas and let them stay in syrup for 5 minutes.
7. Remove the toshas on to a plate.
8. Boil the syrup until it reaches 1 thread consistency.
9. Drop the toshas again in hot syrup and let them soak for another 5 minutes.
10. Line a tray with foil and place the toshas on it.
11. Boil the syrup until it becomes very thick.
12. With a spoon pour the syrup on the toshas evenly.
13 You can garnish it with sliced pistas.
14. Allow it to dry. Toshas cannot be handled until completely dry. Once dried the syrup will form a coating on the toshas and they will be little shiny.
15. Remove from tray and flip it to dry the bottom side. When completely dry store in airtight jar.
16. Serve with love..
